Within Australia, Peabody Energy has eleven operations in Queensland and New South Wales and is actively pursuing growth plans with a view to being a long-term participant in the Australian coal industry and continues to supply the high-growth Asian coal markets.

Due to continued growth in our business we are currently seeking an enthusiastic Finance Analyst to provide finance analysis within our business and to assist in management of our Joint Ventures. This role will suit a qualified accountant with accounting, audit or corporate finance experience, either in Commerce or professional environment, seeking to broaden their general finance skills and gain commercial experience.

Your responsibilities will include:

Provision of analytical support to Corporate Finance and Joint Venture team on business transactions and complex finance and commercial issues;
Act as focal point for JV issues and liaise with JV participants and internal stakeholders to resolve issues and reporting questions;
Prepare written proposals and briefing papers Monitor compliance with JV agreements and related company procedures and obligations;
Coordinate preparations for JV meetings including briefing papers and resolutions; and,
Management and monitoring of rights and obligations (including royalties) resulting from business transactions.

To be successful in this role you must:

Be CA/CPA qualified with at least 3 years post qualification experience;
Possess advanced financial modelling and analytical skills;
Be an excellent researcher and team player;
Possess excellent report writing and time management skills; and,
Have an ability to communicate and build relationships at all levels of the business
