The Utilities division provides electricity, water, hydrocarbon and waste management services to the Pilbara Operations including the towns of Wickham, Dampier, Pannawonica, Tom Price and Paraburdoo. Over the next 5 years the electrical system will be significantly expanded with new power stations at Cape Lambert, and West Angelas in addition to existing power stations at Dampier and Paraburdoo.
Reporting to the Principal Electrical Engineer, the primary purpose of this role is to deliver and set expectations on capital and operating projects, develop and foster relationships with key stakeholders and ensure compliance with relevant statutory, legislative provisions and HSEQ Standards. As this is a senior role you will also be expected to provide technical support to operations and site based maintenance teams. Mentoring of graduates and engineers will be expected in all facets of Electrical Engineering pertaining to Transmission, Distribution and Generation Assets.
Your key areas of responsibility include:
- Compliance with relevant statutory, legislative provisions, Electrical and HSEQ Standards.
- Providing technical support to Maintenance & Operational teams and delivery of continuous improvement projects.
- Actively promote safety awareness and safe work practices and compliance with safety management plans.
- Deliver projects by effectively reporting on progress, cost and scheduling. Ensuring the agreed deliverables meet stakeholder expectations.
- Assign project responsibilities and clearly defined tasks to team members by developing stakeholder maps.
- Create, apply, review and develop systems, processes, procedures and practices and audit to measure performance
- Communicate regularly with key stakeholders including other groups within Asset Management and RTIO Group utilising expertise and best practice knowledge.
- Assist in the preparation and management of the Capital budget.
To be successful in this role you will hold an Electrical Engineering degree, coupled with experience in project engineering and management (project definition, scope, budget, schedule, project planning, execution, cost control, reporting and deliverables), engineering design (conceptual design and reviews of detail design) and business systems development and implementation. You will have previous experience in financial and contract management, including negotiation and/or mediation. A Corporate Membership of Engineers Australia (IEAUST) is will be seen as favourable.
