Must be able to sub-drift, drive raises, all aspects of stoping (panel, shrink, cut & fill, long hole), all aspects of underground construction and must be proficient in the safe operation of mobile equipment (including LHD).
Must be proficient in the safe operation of conventional, track mining equipment such as jackleg, stoper, 12B & LM56 mucking machines, and slusher.
Must have a minimum of 2 years mining experience as a Miner II. (Total underground mining experience of at least 4 years.)
Must be able to prove their abilities as a leader in planning and organizing work and other miners.
Candidates from outside of Ontario will have to demonstrate their proficiency in order to become certified under the Ontario Common Core for Basic Underground Hard Rock Mining Skills and applicable Specialty Module
