Mobile Equipment Mechanics north of Juneau, Alaska, USA
Coeur Alaska is recruiting Mobile Equipment Mechanics for our Kensington Gold Mine, located 45miles north of Juneau, Alaska. We are seeking talented candidates who will work safely and productively with limited supervision and will motivate others to achieve Company goals and objectives for a world class underground gold mine.
Responsibilities:
Successful candidates will:
• Maintain & repair surface and/or underground mobile mining equipment.
• Drills, Bolters, Loaders, Haul Trucks, heavy and light duty Support Equipment
• Intermediate Welding and fabrication skills
• Complete primary and secondary maintenance on equipment according to daily schedules, an weekly / monthly plans.
• Have diesel and gas engine troubleshooting and repair skills
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, modify, and repair mechanical, hydraulic and electrical components of mobile mining equipment
• Responsible for pre-shift inspection of work areas and equipment, and responds appropriately
• Prepares computer generated work orders using the Oracle EAM Maintenance Management System, checks the status of direct orders, and interacts with warehouse and purchasing pe
Experience Required:
• Ability to demonstrate the skills and abilities list for a Mechanic 1,2, or 3 in the current Job Classification & Proficiency Matrix (Certification/Degree in Heavy Equipment Mechanical Maintenance from a related vocational technical school will be considered heavily in meeting iton the Matrix). Matrix is available in the Human Resources Department.
• Two or more years diesel equipment experience at the Journeyman/Craftsman level
• Must have a thorough understanding of standard maintenance and operational procedures and beable to complete tasks with guidelines stipulated by company safety and environmental policies.
• Good verbal and written communication skills as well as good technical, problem solving and math skills
• Basic computer knowledge and skills
Experience Preferred:
• Previous underground experience
• Previous heavy equipment maintenance experience
• Light vehicle experience
