CH2M HILL Electrical Quality Control Inspector Journeyman – Expatriate - Afghanistan

The challenge? Providing exceptional support for engineering and construction services to government and military clients. Our Electrical Quality Control Inspector Journeyman's are responsible for inspecting various facets of electrical work as part of the Power Distribution Field Teams. You should be a self-motivated, team focused professional; 10 to 20 years field construction experience and a background in deployed military environments in the Middle East; and have a desire to grow personally as well as professionally with each electrical quality control inspector journeyman job.

Our Electrical Quality Control Inspector Journeyman roles:

• Ensure that the subcontractor performs the correct and efficient execution of assigned work including technical inspections, diagnostics, repair, and testing of Power Distribution systems from the generator electrical panel, transfer switch, Main Distribution Panel (MDP), Secondary Distribution Panel (SDP), to the Consumer Distribution Panel (CDP), to the end device to ensure complete code compliance with NEC 2008.
• Conduct Safety Tool Box Meetings.
• By means of random sampling performs inspections and passes completed work for compliance with the requirements set forth above.
• Position will require ability to obtain CAC card; ability to obtain Secret Security Clearance is highly desirable. To meet this requirement, candidate must be a U.S. citizen or U.S. Naturalized citizen.
• Role will require successful completion of multiple contingencies to include an Employment Background Check, Physical and Drug Test. Additional information:
• Living and working conditions at the assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable. Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.
• Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions.
• Initial Assignment will be for 6 months, with the possibility of extension.

Basic Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or closely related degree. If no degree, 2 years additional experience is required.
• A minimum of 5 yrs experience in Journeyman classification.
• Must possess a state approved NEC Journeyman certification or license.
• Completion of an electrical apprenticeship program is required through an electrical union, trade school, college or university, or a licensed electrical contractor.
• Working knowledge of plans, specifications, blueprints, schematic drawings, layouts, and other visual aids. Intimately familiar with the proper use of electrical test equipment.
• Ability to carry out oral and written instructions and be able to work on their own proficiently while conducting subcontractor evaluations/inspections.
