CH2M HILL Data Center Electrical Engineer - Portland, Oregon
The challenge? Help provide technical and application support to our data center and laboratory design team. Our Data Center Electrical Engineer jobs provide you with an opportunity to work on state of the art data center and science and technology laboratory projects. Each day you will perform the routine aspects of assignments requiring knowledge and application of basic engineering principals. You should be a self-motivated, licensed professional, with an interest in data center design, and have a desire to grow personally as well as professionally with each new data center job.

Our Data Center Electrical Engineers:

• Participate in business development activities with potential clients.
• Are capable of developing programming/basis of design documents.
• Have good communications skills including formal presentations to clients and mentoring junior staff.
• Project experience would include data centers, laboratories.
• Will be leading a team of electrical engineers, designers, and drafters from project kick off to design completion.
• Perform detailed one-line development including normal power, emergency power, and uninterruptible power. This would include:
• 
  
  
  
  • Basic load calculations
  • Generator load calculations
  • UPS system requirements
  • Facility redundancy requirements
  • Equipment Space Requirements
  • Energy Efficiency, Sustainability and LEED Power monitoring
  • Time-Current Curve Coordination  
• Have a good understanding of the electrical distribution equipment such as: Medium-voltage switchgear, Transformers, Uninterruptible power supplies, Battery systems, Rotary systems, Cable sizing.
• Coordinate with local utility companies for electrical services.
• Must have working knowledge of National Electrical Code.
• Have a good understanding of fire alarm and telecommuncations systems.

Basic Qualifications

• 5+ years experience as an Electrical Engineer in a consulting environment.
• Professional Engineering License or capable of obtaining licensure with 12 months.
• Project experience must include one or more of the following: Data Centers, Laboratories, Industrial manufacturing, educational, or health care facilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience on multiple Data Center design projects.

Degree Required

Bachelors or 4 Year Degree

Certifications Required

PE or obtain w/in 12 months
