THE ROLE
CCL has been requested by an international oil and gas operating company to provide a Senior Petroleum Economist to be based in Houston. Must be willing to work / travel internationally as required by Client. Remuneration negotiable, contract duration one year (renewable). Client would prefer candidates residing in the Houston area. This vacancy is being handled by our Houston office.
THE PERSON
5 - 10 years of experience in an upstream oil & gas environment. Experience in educating organizations in probabilistic economics. Provide regular (or on request) economic analysis and cash flow forecasts to evaluate specific investment decisions, including commercial, project and drilling evaluations. Ensure Contract fiscal terms are interpreted correctly in the economic models, supported by appropriate tax/legal documentation. Document and update the economic models with appropriate production forecasts, cost data and fiscal terms in coordination with the relevant technical functions, particularly for Business Plan and Annual Reserves requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Degree qualified candidates preferred. Good analytical skills and confidence to challenge. Advanced Excel skills. Well organised. Flexible - able to react to change and varied timetables. Self-motivated and good team member. Seniority to communicate with all levels of the organization. Excellent communication skills, including fluent written and spoken English, essential. Must be eligible to reside and work in the US.
