The Chief Medical Officer reports to the Environment & Social Director and works closely with AREVA Group Medical Director. The missions of the Mining BG Chief Medical Officer are:
- to coach and develop the health team in Paris (managed by the Chief Medical Officer) and at each Mining BG location
- to design, implement and update the Mining BG Health policies and procedures in relation with the Group Medical Director and in line with AREVA Health and Safety policy (2011-2013)
- to provide AREVA Mines management with professional advice and assistance in dealing with issues requiring medical expertise and health issues
- to bring support to all branches and affiliates of the AREVA Mines for their medical needs
- to visit all sites on a regular basis, at least every year
- to ensure that AREVA Mines fulfills its obligations to provide staff with a safe and healthy working environment, delivers occupational health services that are consistent with the AREVA Group standards and are in compliance with the International Labor Organization recommendations, offers activities and programs to promote and maintain staff health and hygiene
- to increase the personnel awareness, including at management level, about health and hygiene issues with an emphasis on prevention and regular monitoring
- to provide the social team with advice on CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) health programs
- to ensure a close relationship with other key support departments within AREVA Mines: Protection, Safety, Environment, Social Development, Human Resources
- to interface closely with other operational functions: Operation (DOP), Expertise and Project (DEXP) and Geosciences (DGS)
- to assist all operating sites (exploration, construction and production) to develop a site wide Health Action Plan that will be validated by site/country management
- to organize and maintain a network of correspondents - at national and local level: health authorities, medical referents, assistance companies, and medical service providers
- to provide advice on health issues that could represent a threat and/or could jeopardize the business continuity, including on an epidemiological monitoring worldwide
- to participate in the crisis preparedness response and management
- to develop and maintain open internal communication with management, staff, local correspondents, and promote the health department within the Mining BG/ AREVA Mines
- to liaise regularly with the key representatives of the health care system, and with counterparts in the other international organizations and multinational corporations sharing similar health-related issues
- to implement and follow the HCVP (health check and vaccination program) for expatriates and staff in mission with International SOS (ISOS)
- to follow and manage the ISOS "Travel for Treatment" contract in Niger
- to be responsible for overseas hospitals supervision, including the management of the cost reduction program at the Arlit-Akokan hospitals.
Medical Degree. 15-20 years experience in industrial environment.
International scope : english fluent, russian is a plus.
