Australia is the worlds leading producer of zircon and titanium minerals. The mineral sands industry is worth $1.5 billion in annual export income and provides direct employment for over 3000 Australians. Our client is a publicly listed company on the Australian Stock Exchange and has raised $84.9 Million Dollars to fund the construction and start up of its 100 percent owned Mineral Sands Project in South Australia. Due to this development they are looking for a Metallurgist Manager for their Mindarie operation.

Reporting to the General Manager, Mindarie Project, the role of the Processing Manager is to manage the mineral separation plant from receipt of the heavy mineral concentrate to the delivery of product to the rail load-out facility. It interfaces strongly with the Mining Manager, Senior Mining Engineer and the Environmental Officer, and has a team of people reporting to it. You will take responsibility for the development, manning and operation within the metallurgical domain of the new mine development through execution and into operations within agreed budget parameters.

Ideally you will have a Tertiary Qualification in Metallurgy, have solid experience in managing a processing plant and posses strong people management skills. Your strong understanding of mining related financial analysis, and business drivers coupled with your excellent computer skills will see you become highly successful in this role. Previous mineral sands experience highly will be highly regarded.
