BHP Billiton produces copper, uranium, gold and silver from its Olympic Dam mining and processing operation located near Roxby Downs, South Australia. The operation is a long-life asset with a very significant mineral resource base - being the world-s fourth-largest known copper resource, the fourth-largest known gold resource and the largest known uranium deposit. The expansion project, currently in its Pre-Feasibility stage, aims to significantly increase production from the deposit in the safest and most efficient manner.

Position Synopsis

Providing engineering support in governance, direction, procedures and guidelines to the Ore Processing and Concentrator teams, you will manage feasibility and value engineering through EPC and other contractors to define and optimise the design of the Concentrator Managing the detailed design through EPC contractors meet project budget and schedule, production rates and operating costs projections, you will establish, authorize, review and update engineering standards, procedures and guidelines for the Concentrator.

In addition you will establish, maintain and communicate engineering benchmarks and foundation knowledge and provide functional leadership to EPC contractors through the Concentrator project management team to ensure adherence to engineering standards, procedures and guidelines. Providing specialist technical advice to the Concentrator project management team in relation to engineering standards, procedures and guidelines, you will work with the HSEC professionals to ensure HSEC Management Standards are an integral part of engineering services and that these are clearly conveyed to ensure the goal of Zero Harm is inherent in all engineering services.
Skills and Experience

Degree qualified in Civil or Electrical Engineering, you will have extensive experience in engineering design, operations and management. Demonstrating strong negotiation skills, you will be experienced in managing large multi-disciplinary projects. Additionally you will have a strong understanding of engineering requirements, applicable to large capital growth expansion, related to a mining or mineral processing operation. Experience in the mining industry specifically in concentrator plant design is a requirement, as is proven management and communication skills.
