The Role…
You will work independendly and report to the Manager Mining to ensure that you and your team reach business goals and production targets.

It will be your responsibility to determine those same targets whilst preparing annual budgets and business plans. You will ultimately take the lead in ensuring that production targets and goals for your operational area are met.

Identify business opportunities and cost effective strategies whilst taking a continual improvement approach to your management.

Core duties include:-

Maximise recovery and minimise dilution in stoping activities.
Install and apply new procedures, processes and technology.
Control OPEX and CAPEX.
Ensure mine layout is designed to meet safety, geotechnical, service, mining, recovery and functional requirements.
Proactively manage and liaise with contractors.

Your Qualifications…
Sound judgement, strong organisational and supervisory skills will be required, accompanied by excellent communication skills.

It is also essential that you possess:-

Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering.
WA 1st Class Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competency.

5 years exposure to underground operations in planning and production is ideal with deep level mining highly regarded. Qualifications in a post graduate business course are also desirable as you will have the opportunity to grow into senior management should you desire.
