Pre-Strip Superintendent

Location: Australia
Reporting to the Mining Manger the Pre-strip Superintendent will be responsible for leading the truck/shovel operations at Saraji mine. You will be building on your years of mining experience and solid safety record to apply effective loading and hauling methods to maximise productivity. Responsibilities will include co-ordination of operations, planning and the application of best practices in the mining department. As a key influencing & coaching role, effective management and leadership skills are essential.

Applicants will be required to demonstrate:

* A strong commitment to ensuring a safe and environmentally healthy workplace;
* An aptitude to plan, organise and coordinate a variety of tasks within a challenging and changing environment;
* A commitment to improving production and reliability through the provision of effective solutions to technical problems whilst eliminating or minimising environmental safety hazards;
* A capability to manage capital and operating projects including accurate budgeting, monitoring and scheduling to ensure timely and cost effective execution;
* An ability to prioritise work with client departments, key personnel and maintain effective communications;

Ideally the successful applicant should have:

* Significant experience in truck/shovel and mining operations in an open cut environment;
* Extensive operational planning and organising experience;
* Demonstrated ability/skills in areas of leadership, operations and problem solving skills;
* An ability to communicate effectively with operators, supervisors, engineers and managers;
* Certificate in Frontline Leadership (desirable)
