GEMCO is seeking experienced and team focused individuals to join the Business Excellence group that forms part of the over all Business Improvement team. The role is required to lead business improvement initiatives across the operation with a results focused approach on improving overall business performance and contributing to the bottom line.

Reporting to the Business Excellence Superintendent, you will primarily be responsible for the management and delivery of measurable improvements by applying the Business Excellence methodology throughout BHP Billiton’s GEMCO asset.

Duties are focussed upon collaborative improvement projects. Providing training, coaching, mentoring and support to all levels of the organisation, this role is critical to achieving increased business performance across site. You will lead and facilitate project teams to identify and effectively resolve problems resulting in measurable and sustainable business improvements that clearly have a value add to the bottom line of the operations.

Qualifications, skills and experience:

* Qualified Six Sigma Black Belt (preferred)
* Significant experience in the application of LEAN and 5S.
* Tertiary or trade qualified in a technical discipline.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with people from a variety of different backgrounds
* Effective facilitation and presentation skills
* A clear drive for continuous improvement through the utilizations of business excellence skills and tools.
* While not essential candidates with front line leadership experience at supervisor or above in either operations and or maintenance will be well regarded.

GEMCO is looking for a strong results orientated team player, with the capacity to take ownership and assume responsibility for achieving goals.
