Surveying Superintendent

An exciting opportunity exists for a Surveying Superintendent to join the Technical Services Department reporting to the Technical Services Manager. The purpose of this role is to provide leadership enabling Blackwater Mine to provide an increasingly safe, reliable and cost efficient operation.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

* Supervision of Surveying team activities;
* Ensure surveying services and support interface effectively with mine planning and production functions;
* Effectively plan, coordinate and continuously improve the mine surveying function;
* Provide operations monitoring and reporting to enable the achievement of short and long term business objectives; and
* Maintaining and enhancing mine site safety standards.

The successful candidate will have:

* An Associate Diploma in surveying or recognised equivalent;
* A reliable and energetic approach to work, with the ability to work in a team environment;
* A good standard of communication and interpersonal skills;
* A high standard of computer literacy;
* A current driver’s licence.

The following would be desirable but not essential:

* Previous supervisory experience;
* Experience with Vulcan, Access, and GIS;
* Experience in truck and shovel and dragline stripping operations, coal mining, reclamation and other associated mining duties.
