We are currently seeking the experience of a well organised Technical Officer with a demonstrated commitment to safety to work across our Hydrometallurgy Group, providing support to projects based at our Newcastle Technology Centre. Your high levels of initiative and good judgement will ensure your success as you develop, apply and adapt to a wide variety of hydrometallurgical laboratory and pilot plant techniques, processes and equipment.
Think Purpose

Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Contributing to the planning and execution of work programs across Hydrometallurgy

• Contributing to the development and evaluation of innovations for the company’s operations and growth projects, and the successful transfer of these to the pilot and demonstration plant scales

• Contributing member of multidisciplinary teams which develop new and emerging technologies

• Contributes to the development of innovative hydrometallurgical technologies

• Assisting in the analysis and interpretation of results

• Participating in the operation of various pilot plants, which may involve shift work from time to time

• Writing short technical reports, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and competency assessments

• Conforming to HSEC policies and procedures ensuring zero harm
Think Requirements

You will possess relevant tertiary qualifications and/or experience in applied chemistry, chemical engineering, analytical chemistry or hydrometallurgy. You preferably have hands-on development experience in base metals hydrometallurgy. You will be proficient in the use of standard Microsoft software for reporting purposes.

You are a dedicated, positive team player capable of influencing and persuading others. You have outstanding interpersonal skills and have high levels of initiative and energy. Your technical and functional strengths are complemented by your strong attention to detail and leadership capabilities.

The successful candidate will be placed at the relevant Technical Officer level (Technical, Senior or Principal) commensurate with their experience.
