Think Opportunity

An exciting opportunity now exists for a Station Manager to look after our Weebo Station in the Northern Goldfields. This challenging role combines a merino wool growing operation with management of the rangelands and is part of the Nickel West Pastoral group. This is a live-in position which would suit a couple and comes with comfortable accommodation at the station homestead. Primary schooling is available through School of the Air.

Think Purpose

The purpose of the Station Managers role is to maximise the commercial viability of the Nickel West pastoral leases by managing the assets and people in an environmentally friendly and socially responsible manner and to meet targets of reduced overheads and increased income. You will also be responsible for the staff on site which consists of one full time station hand and contracting staff throughout the year when necessary.

Think Requirements

As station Manager, we expect you to come from a similar background with practical hands on experience in running a station. Experience in budget preparation and cost control, along with experience in environmental monitoring would be highly regarded. You must have experience in animal husbandry and selection and be comfortable in dealing with local communities. Certificates in first aid and agriculture would be considered advantageous.

Due to the nature of the role, we will be short listing candidates with previous experience in living remotely and able to deal with the stress of isolation and heat
