We are seeking two motivated and experienced geology professionals for challenging roles in the Geological Services team of BMA’s Resource Development Group operating out of Central Queensland Office near Moranbah. This team of geologists and support staff operates as an internal consultancy providing centralised exploration services and geological support to customers at operating mines, development and grassroots exploration projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to the Superintendent Geologist, the successful candidates will have major responsibilities including;
• commitment to BMA’s Charter and “Working Responsibly” Policy (Health, Safety, Environment and Community)
• successful delivery of exploration drilling programmes at operating mines, development projects and grassroots projects, safely, on time and budget, with required data quality
• effective leadership, scheduling and deployment of field geology teams and support staff and staff development
• day to day responsibility for contractor management
• continuous improvement of safety, exploration processes and systems
• ensuring that tenement statutory requirements are met
• acting for the Superintendent Geologist when absent
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
The successful candidates will:
• have a degree in geosciences
• a demonstrated track record of identifying and implementing HSEC initiatives
• senior geologist experience level, i.e. have at least 5 years relevant exploration, mine geology or resource modelling experience, preferably with exposure to coal
• effective team leadership and communication skills, and strong customer focus
• strong contract and project management skills
• high level of computer literacy (Microsoft products, document management, geological databases and modelling software)
• active membership of a professional association (Chartered Professional status will be looked upon favourably
