Maintenance Superintendent Support Equipment

Position Synopsis

Responsible for the development of maintenance strategies and organisational capability for the Olympic Dam Expansion Project support fleet, you will guide basic and detailed engineering design of the systems to ensure operability, safety and maintenance requirements are optimised in the design stage. Ensuring compliance to the Definition standards and establishing a detailed execution plan you will evaluate alternate support equipment for maintenance strategies for open pit mine and recommend optimal solutions for the Olympic Dam Expansion Project.

You will develop a strategy for secure future spare parts supply and components repairs for all support equipment, ensuring alignment with any existing BHP Billiton alliance agreements. Developing detailed execution plan for the support fleet and establishing support contracts as necessary, you will identify all infrastructure requirements associated with support equipment maintenance needs, and develop appropriate basic and detailed engineering designs through the Project Infrastructure group.

In addition you will develop detailed operating and capital cost estimates for the maintenance component of the support fleet in the Definition and Execution Study phase and work with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to promote and develop technical innovation in support maintenance.
Skills and Experience

Degree qualified in Civil, Mining, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent you will have extensive experience in maintenance of mining, aircraft or marine equipment. Experience in the preparation of maintenance strategies for Pre-Feasibility or Feasibility Studies is desirable. Proven financial evaluation skills and superior presentation skills are a must. Post graduate qualifications in Masters of Business Administration (MBA) would be highly regarded.
