Superintendent Underground Development

Our client is one of the world's largest and lowest-cost copper and gold producers. They have an opening in Indonesia for a Superintendent Underground Development. The purpose of this position is to direct, plan and control development activities in DOZ Mine to ensure they are executed safely and the target is achieved in a timely and at the most cost effective manner in compliance with the company policies, procedures, goals, and objectives.

The key duties and responsibilities of this position are:

Direct and control development activities including drilling, loading, blasting, ground supporting (timbering, steel set, etc), mucking, ventilation installation, production and repair, in order to ensure the processes are safe and achieve the determined target in a timely and at most cost effective manner, and in compliance with company's policies and procedures.

Direct and control materials and equipments usage in certain area and activities i.e. blasting and mucking, in order to ensure all of them are used and assigned effectively and efficiently.
*
Develop JSA (Job Safety Analysis), policies, and procedures for all new equipments and works, to provide a standard guidelines and direction to the subordinates in performing their duties.
*
Direct and control materials requirement in development area i.e. explosives, timber, steel set, wire mass, etc. to ensure the availability of the stock, in order to maintain continuity of activities and in compliance with the determined plan.
*
Liaise with other departments and related parties to coordinate all matters related with development, maintenance schedule and waste management.
*
Prepare and submit daily, weekly and monthly report to superior which includes equipments availability, materials usage and target achievements, to provide data and information about the status of the works/tasks and its issues which can be used as foundation for decision making.
*
Develop, monitor, evaluate and appraise performance and potential capabilities of subordinates, to contribute the development of professional team.
*
Direct and communicate company's safety, health and environmental policies and procedures including conduct safety meeting, in order to promote subordinates awareness of safety and environmental issues especially working in Underground, which has a high risk environment.

The key challenges in this position include:

To manage people/crews which come from various backgrounds.
*
To control all development activities which are located in a high risk areas and ensure all miners follow company's policies and procedures.

Qualifications

The background, education and work experience needed to succeed in this job are:

* Bachelor Degree/S1 in Mining Engineering
* 15 years experience in Underground Engineering and Underground Operations, especially in development.
