Permanent skilled level position in the Mining sector in the Northern Cape, 170km West of Kimberley in South Africa (Northern Cape). Benefits: Medical Aid, Pension. This is an Employment Equity (Affirmative Action) position.
One of the world’s largest lime producers, operating a processing plant and mining operation, is looking for a Mining Superintendent.
This position will be based in the Northern Cape approximately 170km west of Kimberley.
The town has a population of approximately 7000 people and offers a primary school, library, shopping centre, hospital/ clinic and excellent sport and recreation facilities.
This is a challenging position and the successful candidate will be responsible for managing the open-cast mining operation which includes loading and hauling, production reporting, budget and quality control, rehabilitation and all the other mining activities associated with a mining operation of this magnitude.
The Mining Superintendent will also fulfill a crucial role in the effective utilisation and development of employees, according to the company’s people-oriented policy.
A tertiary mining qualification
5 years open-pit/ quarry experience
Knowledge of computerised mining software essential
Knowledge of an earth-moving equipment maintenance programme advantageous
Ability to function as part of a committed team
Excellent interpersonal skills
An understanding of the cement/ lime manufacturing process will be advantageous
