Job Description

General Responsibilities

Supervise projects from concept stage to design and the construction. Projects are in minerals/metallurgical industry including materials handling, such as ndustries include alumina and other minerals/metals. Experience with materials hanling, including conveyors, crusher, tracking, loading, packing of ore/minerals is preferred.

Detailed Responsibilities

Promotes a total Safety culture in all project related activities;
Ensures that all project activities and deliverables are completed in accordance with AHEA safety management systems with objective of achieving zero injuries;
Manages the identified Project opportunities (LA's and RFA's) for the nominated Operating Centres that they are working for.
Reports progress of all nominated capital projects to the nominated Operating Centres
Develops of Safety, Operability, Maintainability, and Engineering Deliverables list in consultation with stakeholders.
Completes the Contract Book and ensures that the solution is effective and meets the boundary condition, whilst ensuring that Contract Book outputs are in accordance with established procedures.
Ensure projects meet or exceed all targets stated in the Request for Authorisation.
Ensure projects are delivered to the satisfaction of the owner and with optimal involvement of the owner's team.
Identify minimum capital intensity solutions in the Contract Book phase of projects.
Ensures all facets of Capital Projects (FEL, Budget, Schedule, Change Control etc) are delivered in accordance with the AHEA Procedures via Project Leaders or Project Engineers.
Manages and escalates project changes against criteria including project intent, cost and schedule. (Changes may be initiated by the customer, a member of the project team, suppliers, contractors, statutory authorities or natural causes - inclement weather etc.). If PTL is unable to reach agreement with customer on changes, escalates the issue promptly for resolution to the Senior Project Leader.
Complete the Post Project Reviews for the nominated projects as required.

Requirements:

Must have 10 years experience in minerals/metallurgical industry, supervising projects from concept, through design to construction.
Fluent spoken English and excellent written English;
Bachelor degree, major in Mechanical Engineering or related disciplines.
