PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
- Act as client’s representative for the construction of the Company’s mine, according to an EPCM contract.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT
- Initially based in London during the finalization of plant and infrastructure design,
- Relocating to Burkina Faso thereafter, to manage construction.

DIMENSIONS
- Project scope: approximately USD$60M, encompasses plant, tailings facilities, camp and administration areas, access road and water reservoir engineering, procurement and construction,
- Projected 13 month construction period, from 1st December 2007 to end December 2008

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
- Reports to General Manager of the in-country mining company,
- Direct reports: EPCM Contract Project Manager,
- Key relationships: Administration Manager, Mining Manager, Maintenance Manager and Processing Manager

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Recommendations to GM on sign off an all final design,
- Management of EPCM contractor, including maintaining HSE compliance and achieving project scheduling and expenditure targets

AUTHORITY TO ACT
- Authority to approve all in-budget expenditures, subject to normal in-country mining company financial approval processes,
- Authority to manage, direct and control the EPCM contract within the approved scope of work and in accordance with the term and conditions of the EPCM contract.

SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES
- Processing design and optimization,
- Management or EPCM type contracts, including experience of FIDIC based contracts

REMUNERATION
