Geology Manager

Our Client is a privately owned and well-funded mining company in the process of developing a world-class resource in South East Asia. The project is a conventional open pit mining and mineral processing operation located approximately 2-hours drive from the capital city.

The project has extensive proven reserves and when completed will produce primarily base metals, in conjunction with a mixture of secondary precious metals. The project has an estimated mine life in excess of 16 years, making it one of the largest deposits of its type in the world.

The project is well served by existing infrastructure, including road, rail and power and two modern marine ports.

The Final Feasibility Study for the project has been completed, anticipating initial production beginning in early 2009.

The development of the mine will be accomplished with due consideration for the economic, social and environmental risks of the project, and with a strong commitment to the sustainable development of the communities that the project will affect.

The company seeks to employ a Geology Manager for the project. This person will be an experienced geological graduate who has held a Chief Geologist role in the past.

You will have a minimum of 15 years relevant experience, inclusive of at least 5-years managerial and team supervision. Technical knowledge will include expertise of Gemcom, Whittle, or similar software and experience of mine resource control and mine-related exploration.

Some experience, specifically of certain base metals or geological formations, ideally wolfram, fluorspar, bismuth and/or skarn would be a big advantage, experience in the region of SE Asia would be a bonus.
