The client, a world-class international minerals/mining company is looking for a Senior Engineer / Project Manager for their operation near Birmingham, Alabama.
The opportunity is for a person to manage a series of large capital improvements to the quarry and process plants, so the person needs to understand processing, materials handing, managing budgets, management of time, materials, people and engineering.
The ideal person is an engineer (mechanical, industrial, mining, metallurgical, similar) with the desire to move into a challenging role in an expanding operation. The role is not tightly defined: the person will be able to handle multiple responsibilities, i.e. multiple capital projects plus, potentially, some operational responsibilities. The person may come from a maintenance/engineering background, a PMP-type of background, or an operations role – someone who wishes to expand their horizons and excel. There are plenty of places to excel and be recognized.
Responsibilities:
Capital project management
Budget responsibility (capital and operational)
Potentially management of departmental/operational areas (as capital projects are finished, the role will change into departmental/operations management)
Minerals/processing management
Materials handling/minerals processing

Selection Criteria
4-year degree in appropriate engineering discipline (mechanical, industrial, metallurgical, chemical, mining,etc, similar, engineering)
5+ years of experience in a process-heavy industry (manufacturing, energy, minerals, cement, lime, aggregates, etc).
Interested in a varied career and interested in expanding career
Verifiable experience in managing process, people and budget.
Experience with CMMS, integration of operations with ERP software like SAP, etc, highly desired
Project management certification (something like PMP) looked-upon very favorably!
MUST be legal to work in the U.S. (resident or green-card holder)
