A rapidly growing, diversified base metals mining company with multiple European operations has an immediate requirement for a Corporate Process Plant Manager.
The Company currently has six mines in operation producing copper, nickel, lead and zinc and a strong project pipeline with two key projects currently under development and an extensive exploration portfolio.
Acting as the centre of metallurgical expertise the key goal of this role will be to achieve best practice in metallurgical techniques while managing cost efficiencies both in project design, construction and in operations throughout the organization. This will be achieved through sound management practices including the establishment of best practice in design, operation and maintenance of the facilities and the development and training of the workforce to a higher degree of efficiency whilst respecting the highest HS standards.
Responsibilities include:
Leadership, responsibility and accountability of critical safety, health, project development, production, operational and maintenance standards for the processing functions in the company.
Development and implementation of the optimization and maintenance strategies required for base metals processing facilities.
Establish leading new technology analysis and building leading edge solutions in line with trends and innovative ideas.
Perform due diligence on acquisition targets for process.
Identify and adequately resource the various projects and problem solving exercises needed for continued success. These projects will be of a design, construction, operations and/or research nature.
Preliminary project development support.
Professional development of processing personnel.
Accurate and timely reporting of required key performance, project and business indicators.
Self development to keep abreast of metallurgical process developments.
Qualifications:
A degree in Metallurgy/Chemical Engineering
15 to 20 years postgraduate experience, ideally including exposure to lead, zinc, copper and base metals operations with at least 5 years prior experience at a management level
Track record of safety leadership for both project development and production phases
Development of company standards with compliance to international legislation and codes
Demonstrated history of leading and mentoring staff
Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats to all levels of the workforce
Ability to motivate and work within a team
Good problem solving and decision making skills
Highly motivated self starter
Previous experience working in diverse cultures or in similar circumstances is highly desirable
Contract conditions negotiable for the right candidate.
