Position Summary
As a member of the Greens Creek Senior Management Team (SMT) reporting to the General Manager, the Centralized Maintenance Manager will lead the site’s mobile and fixed asset maintenance teams in the safe, efficient and environmentally responsible manner.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Position
• Lead and improve maintenance department health, safety, and environmental (HSE) performance, including development and implementation of departmental HSE improvement plan; strong presence in the field performing employee safety interactions (SI’s), and employee performance management & development.
• Develop and implement a centralized maintenance strategy, encompassing maintenance of Mill, Surface and Underground assets.
• Recruit and retain talent necessary to manage site maintenance. This should include succession planning and personnel development plans.
• Manage and implement department business plans for underground, mill, surface and power plant facilities, including expense budget, capital projects, equipment performance and improvement targets.
• Implement improved maintenance planning systems and processes, overseeing the clean-up of the existing CMMS, upgrades and ongoing support, ultimately effectively implementing Work Management according to the Greens Creek
Asset Management Standard.
• Tracking of all site assets through their life cycle, including practical tactics development and implementation for all major equipment.
• Implement improved reliability processes, including hydrocarbon management, predictive technologies, defect elimination, and 5S (Lean).
• Lead the defect elimination process in concert with the site business improvement process
• Manage projects to avoid initiative overload and prioritize projects for maximum return.

While performing the duties of this job, employees may be frequently required to stand, walk or sit for extended periods of time; use hand and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; regularly required to talk and hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision requirements for this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Employees may be frequently exposed to underground work environments; outside weather conditions, wet and/or humid conditions; extreme cold, extreme heat, potentially hazardous wildlife; moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock; explosives and vibration. The noise level in most work environments is usually very loud. This position may require work on nights, weekends and rotating shifts; shift schedules may require residency in on-island camp during work rotations.
Education Requirements
BS in Maintenance Engineering or related field from a four-year college or university; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience
Must be proficient using a computer to analyze data, write reports, and utilize the CMMS; Ellipse expertise a plus. At least six years of implementing and sustaining comprehensive maintenance programs in an industrial setting (preferably mining) with significant mechanical or electrical expertise.
