One of the world’s leading contracting companies providing innovative services to the global mining and resources industries, this Australian company has projects under way all over the world.

You will report to the Manager of Mining and will be responsible for the operational management of the entire development. Supported by operations managers based on site who in turn will be supported by Project Manager and Mining Superintendents, the ultimate responsibility will be yours. Being a contracting operation, cost control and on time delivery will form a crucial part of the job function.

The key challenge will be to ensure that the operation develops smoothly. A project team of 200+ staff and in excess of 400 items of plant will form the core of the operation. Working in a foreign environment, one of the challenges will be the integration and mentoring of the local workforce. Sensitivity to cultural diversity is a prerequisite.

Your proven experience in strip mining with extensive exposure to contract mining (preferably in Australia or Indonesia) will be complimented by a professional can do attitude. The ability to support and encourage staff is essential. An Undergraduate degree in an Engineering or Mining discipline would be viewed favourably, but is not essential.

A highly competitive ex - pat package will be offered to the right person.
