Requirements

Education:

Master's degree in geology or mining engineering

Language(s):
Excellent command of English as well as knowledge of/willingness to learn German; other languages such as Spanish or French would be an asset

Experience:

High level of expertise in deposit evaluation and estimation of resources and reserves
Experience in open pit mine planning and design or quarry operation would be advantageous

Skills:

Experience with mining software such as Surpac, VULCAN and Datamine

Other:

open-minded self-driven entrepreneurial thinking ability to present conclusions and recommendations in a convincing manner autonomous and practical approach to problem solving

Requirements:

Willingness to travel frequently (up to 30% of work time)

Position description

Support Group companies as well as Holcim's Executive Committee with expertise in the field of raw materials management focused on evaluation of deposits and estimation of reserves:

Evaluate raw material deposits and compute the block models
Estimate resources and reserves
Elaborate strategic quarry concepts
Install and implement Holcim software tools for raw materials management in the Group companies and support the development of such tools
Autonomously manage consulting and know-how generation projects
Participate in the preparation and realization of training courses and seminars, actively attend conferences, etc. as a lecturer and provide relevant documentation
