Position Summary:
The Construction Manager’s responsibilities will include but are not limited to providing onsite Construction Management Services to the project located in east central Turkey with primary responsibility to oversee the contractor.

Specific duties will include:
• Ensuring all activities are performed with the highest regard for the health and safety of all employees, contractors and local communities – company goals include zero lost time accidents and zero incidents

• Ensuring all activities are performed in full compliance with all rules, regulations and permit conditions – goal being zero ”notices of violation”

• Optimizing construction schedule – the contractor has committed to 15 months, company has publicly projected 18 months

• Provide oversight of contract administration with particular emphasis on facilitating contract opportunities for local contractors

• Participate in plant pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up with first gold pour scheduled for the end of calendar 2009

• Provide oversight to company’s own projects primarily:
o Village relocation o ~40 km 154kV power line construction to the site o Company housing construction o other miscellaneous projects

• Work with operating staff to achieve the objectives listed above in a “shared resources” configuration. Many of the supervisory services are being provided by contractors so the Project Manger will develop a system of checks and balances to determine that safety and quality criteria are being met.

• Select, hire and train an English/Turkish speaking assistant (construction superintendent level) to provide assistance in day to day project management responsibilities

• Spend time in the Montreal office, as required, to familiarize oneself with the project scope and detailed engineering
• Form the nucleus of a development group that will serve to develop this project and future projects for the company

• Work to ensure that excellent public relations are maintained with local communities and ensure all contractors respect and conform to company’s long and short term strategies in this regard

• Support other departments where possible to achieve Company goals and objectives, fostering a team spirit based on trust, good communications, and professional development. These will include employee growth as well as outreach to local communities.

These responsibilities may necessitate timely presence at other locations as required, as well as at the mine site in Turkey.
