Our client is an international mining company based in Western Australia. Due to an internal restructure, and aggressive growth strategy, our client is now actively looking to bring onboard an experienced and seasoned Head of Business Development.
Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
**Participate in the identification, strategic fit analysis, valuation, and negotiation of acquisitions, strategic alliances, new business initiatives and major strategic and investment decisions
**Report on status of activities through reports, executive briefings and personal meetings
**Conducts special studies for top management in areas such as operational effectiveness and operating cost containment
**Analyzes possible mergers, acquisitions, investments and divestitures and makes recommendations as to their impact on the organization’s profitability and objectives
**Assists in the planning and development of organization objectives, long-range and strategic plans, and identification of organization strengths and weaknesses
**May assist or project manage business integration strategies and post-acquisition integrations
**May assist in analyzing financial reports, identifying key trends in the business or through subsidiaries
**May assist with the creation of presentations for the Board of Directors
**Continuously analyze key business metrics and make recommendations for improvement
**Partner with core business operations and develop strong, productive cross enterprise relationships
**Create ad hoc analyses, presentations, and reports that supports business information needs
**Develop and provide quarterly reporting for bank syndicate together with necessary analysis and communications materials
**Prepare monthly and quarterly reporting to the Board of Directors relative to Key Performance Objectives (KPOs) and other related information
**Assist the CEO, COO and CFO with special projects as needed, and perform other essential duties as assigned.
Mandatory Requirements/Experience:
(Candidates without these minimum requirements will not be considered)
**A minimum 15 years of work experience, preferably in strategy/ management consulting, investment banking, or corporate development
**Mining, Oil/ Gas experience preferred.
**Mergers and acquisitions exposure
**High level strategic planning experience
**International exposure to multi-country operations
**A proven ability to take ownership of a project and aggressively drive it towards concrete results
**Ability to successfully handle multiple projects simultaneously and show poise under pressure
**Strong understanding of economics relating to asset performance & business development evaluations.
**Proven ability to produce quick and accurate results with limited data and under short deadlines.
**MBA required with a Bachelor’s degree in a business discipline, preferably in Economics
