As part of BHP Billiton’s Stainless Steel Material’s Group, Nickel West is the world’s third largest producer of nickel-in-concentrate, providing 16% of global production. Nickel West comprises five outstanding Western Australian-based assets, in terms of operating capability, scale, environmental standards, diversity, technology and development projects.
The Cliffs Nickel Project (Cliffs) is Nickel West's newest and most advanced nickel project set on a greenfield site within the Northern Goldfields of Western Australia. It is situated 450km north of Kalgoorlie and 12km south of Nickel West's largest nickel operation, Mt Keith. Cliffs is a 2.4 million tonne, high value nickel/cobalt deposit and is an underground operation with an estimated life of 10 years.

Think Purpose
This role is all about Leadership. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and cost effective maintenance of assets to a level that ensures the ongoing delivery of concentrate to meet Cliffs’ production requirements. You’ll also support the business by helping to make Cliffs an industry leader in maintenance.
Think Requirements
To be successful in this role you will have a mechanical trade qualification with relevant post trade experience preferably in the mining industry and ideally in an underground mining environment.
You will have sound knowledge and understanding of safe work practices, maintenance reliability and works management principles and also posses some maintenance planning and scheduling experience.
You will be well organised with strong analytical and problem solving skills. You will need to be able to communicate to different personnel throughout various levels of the business and demonstrate behaviours consistent with the BHP Code of Conduct.
Good working knowledge of standards and statutory requirements and computerised maintenance systems will see you excel in this role. An overriding commitment to Health, Safety, Environment and the Community is essential.
