BHP Billiton Mitsubishi Alliance (BMA) is Australia’s largest coal miner and exporter, and the world’s largest supplier to the seaborne coking coal market. With nine mines and a port in Central Queensland, the company is experiencing a major expansion phase, with its outstanding resource base and first class infrastructure assets providing a strong foundation on which to grow and strengthen the business.
Saraji is a large open cut coal operation which utilises a fleet of draglines and truck/shovel fleets to expose, haul and produce 7.5M tonnes of export hard coking coal with expansion plans to increase production output to +8M tonnes per annum. Employees reside in the nearby township of Dysart, a modern, well-equipped township, with all facilities, located 250km from Mackay and the Whitsunday Coast.
Saraji CHPP has a 12 month fixed term contract vacancy for a Safety Administration Officer reporting to the Operations Superintendent. The successful applicant will be an enthusiastic self-starter who is interested in working in a busy, fast paced and continuous improvement environment.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Provide administrative support for the CHPP Department with a focus on Safety. This includes routine clerical functions such as central filing, word processing, report collating and preparing presentations.
* SAO entry into FPe (First Priority), including entering of completion information into spreadsheets and running reports.
* Entry of completed Risk Assessment information into Hummingbird (Document Management System).
* Safety Notice board maintenance throughout Department.
* Updating reporting for site Safety competition.
* Assisting with ICAM data entry into FPe.
* Ownership of Department Safety awards process.
* Assisting where necessary with data entry for 15 HSEC standards and FRCP compliance.
* Attend and maintain Safety meeting minutes for Department.
* Assist with safety related improvement projects.
* SAP procurement of Safety related consumables.
Qualifications/Experience:
* Demonstrated high level of competence with the Microsoft Office suite of packages including Excel, Word, Access, Outlook Express (Calendar), PowerPoint etc.
* Above average knowledge of spread sheeting, graphing and database systems.
* Self organisation skills, flexibility, ability to handle high workloads.
* Demonstrated high level of confidentiality.
* Previous experience with First Priority and/or GSAP will be an advantage.
* Adaptable to short term change and task demands, including prioritisation of outcomes.
* Ability to work in a team environment with excellent all round communication aptitude and working relationship building.
