BMA manages ten coal mines and a port in Central Queensland. Employees of Gregory Crinum Mine live in Emerald, a modern town of approximately 14,000 people. Emerald is a modern regional centre based on rural, tourism, service industries as well as mining and boasts an excellent range of services and facilities.

BMA Gregory Crinum Mine is proud to offer a Cert II in Surface Coal Operations Traineeship to a motivated and enthusiastic person. This position is specifically aimed at providing a genuine career pathway into the mining industry for people in the Emerald district.

The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work closely with talented BMA employees, whilst experiencing excellent training and development opportunities and working conditions.

Traineeship Overview:

• As a trainee at Gregory Crinum the successful applicant will complete an 18 month on the job training and development program to achieve required competencies for a Certificate II in Surface Coal Operations (MNC20404).

• The successful applicant will complete of nine (9) units of competency made up of: four (4) mandatory units of competency and five (5) elective units of competency.

The successful applicants will have:

• The ability to work within a team environment

• Well developed oral and written communication skills

• A strong interest in the mining industry

• A high level of integrity and professionalism and;

• A commitment to workplace health and safety.

To qualify for this exciting traineeship you need to have successfully completed a minimum of year 10 with sound results in English and Math’s. Applicants who have completed the minimum year 10 will have developed other skills possibly through work experience or other education.
