As part of BHP Billiton’s Stainless Steel Material’s Group, Nickel West is the world’s third largest producer of nickel-in-concentrate, providing 16% of global production. Nickel West comprises five outstanding Western Australian-based assets, in terms of operating capability, scale, environmental standards, diversity, technology and development projects.
The Ravensthorpe Nickel Operation (RNO) is a A$2.8 billion project located in the South coastal region of Western Australia, just 180kms from Esperance. The operation, currently in ramp up, includes a new mine and processing facility, producing a mixed nickel and cobalt hydroxide intermediate product using state of the art technology. The operation offers employees a unique opportunity of working in a new, innovative and cutting edge operation balanced with a seaside lifestyle in the popular and picturesque seaside township.
Think Opportunity
Our Ravensthorpe site is currently recruiting for a Change Management Co-ordinator to work in our Engineering department. During this period of ramp up, this role is pivotal in ensuring a disciplined approach to change management on site. The position offers excellent career development opportunities to the right candidate and the opportunity to interface with many different departments on site.
Think Purpose
The Change Management Co-ordinator is primarily responsible for establishing and implementing the disciplined approach to managing the change associated with new engineering works or temporarily deviating from standard operating conditions under special circumstances. This will encompass liaison with several different departments and the wider Ravensthorpe community. The position interfaces with technical departments and contains procedural and commercial elements. As such, the responsibilities will include:
• Managing the change management implementation program through training development and the on site induction program
• Participation in workshopping impacts and determining change actions arising
• Interfacing with Document Control
• Seeking continual improvement of change management systems
• Liaison with the engineering department to determine impacts of planned works against existing works and procedures
Think Requirements
With an overriding commitment to safety, health and the environment, this position requires a candidate with an excellent grasp of technical and engineering projects and exposure to change management systems. A solid understanding of quality assurance and risk management systems will be well regarded as will a qualification in a technical, commercial or HR discipline.
You must have a superior ability to communicate effectively and work with others in an ever-changing environment. Well developed analytical, organisational and administrative skills be considered mandatory.
