Drilling Supervisor

Our clients, Downer EDI Mining are recruiting for a Drill Supervisor to provide daily shift supervision to exploration drill teams to achieve shift work targets. This is a FIFO Position with a 2/1 or 4/2 rotating 12 hr day/night shifts.

Specific duties and responsibilities include but not limited to:

* Ensure that all personnel and subcontractor personnel are adequately instructed concerning safety procedures and systems and that these are complied with.
* Conduct safety investigations, prepare reports and recommendations, and implement corrective and preventative actions.
* Ensure compliance with the relevant statutory requirements and legislation.
* Conduct monthly workplace safety inspections and provide reports to the Project Manager.
* Schedule and assign employees to specific tasks, projects, or areas to meet changing priorities.
* Liaise with peers (from fixed or mobile plant areas) to ensure plant availability needed to optimise production levels.
* Make suggestions for continuous improvement around such things as processes and procedures that will improve efficiency.
* Conduct effective shift handovers.
* Track crew/team performance and ensure daily issues are dealt with.
* Monitor work of subcontractors and report concerns to Superintendent.
* Ensure familiarity and compliance with the industrial instrument regulating employment conditions at the site.

Qualifications:

* 5 years + experience in a site operational or maintenance role.
* Experience using HD900's, UDR650's and UDR1000's
