Peak Downs Mine is one of the largest open cut coal operations in the world, producing 9 million tonnes per annum of hard coking coal. It employs in excess of 800 people who reside in the nearby township of Moranbah, a modern, well-equipped township with all facilities, located 200km west of Mackay and the Whitsunday coast
We currently have a vacancy for a Coal Processing Maintenance Supervisor. Reporting to the CPP Maintenance Superintendent, you will be responsible for the supervision of multi-skilled work teams in order to optimise plant throughput, recovery, quality and costs in accordance with the BMA’s policies and objectives. Ensuring that the plant’s performance aligns with mine operating requirements, of timely and cost effective supply of coal to the customer, within specifications, is a key responsibility of this role.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Overseeing, directing and coordinating preventative maintenance activities in a safe and efficient manner
* Ensuring compliance with all safety procedures, safe work instructions, standard activities, legislation and rules;
* Supervising maintenance tradespersons
* Problem solving and troubleshooting
* Actively participating in process improvement initiatives, cost review and reduction programs
* Actively participate in the planning and materials control processes
* Developing and maintaining a close relationship with production peers
* Monitoring maintenance budgets and involvement in their preparation
* Provide coaching and mentoring for tradespersons
* Leading and promoting the site safety culture, to achieve our goal of zero harm
The successful candidate will have:
* Tertiary qualifications in Maintenance Engineering and/or an appropriate mechanical maintenance trade background.
* Demonstrated knowledge of quality systems
* Previous experience in a supervisory role within a Plant environment
* Demonstrated leadership skills
* The ability to plan, organise and coordinate a variety of tasks within a changing environment
* Computer literacy with the Microsoft suite of programs and Maintenance Programs (i.e. SAP )
* Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
* A proven record of commitment to safety and the environment.
