Reporting to the Procurement Superintendent, our client is looking for a Contract Specialist (preferably with mining/engineering industry experience) with strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.

The primary function of the role is to create, negotiate and consummate services contracts.


* Developing and recommending sourcing strategies for the portfolio allocated
* Identification and evaluation of potential suppliers
* Supplier and market analysis to develop a stable and competent supply base
* Identifying and mitigating supply risks
* Preparation of contractual documentation for various service requirements
* Negotiating a resolution for disputes that may arise with contractors and suppliers regarding terms and conditions during contract formation and execution
* Identifying and proposing continual improvement of the contract formation process, standard contract templates etc
* Maintaining contract document control
* Contract reviews
* Identifying and implementing cost and value improvements

You will be team a player with excellent communication skills - verbal and written, have effective interpersonal skills, sound knowledge of current contracting laws, negotiation principles and project management principles. Your qualifications in law, business or relevant supply chain coupled by mining industry experience (2-3 years) will render you invaluable to this role.
