Our client is a large and well recognised listed mining company which has world class assets with a number of operating large scale mines. The company is seeking an Ore Quality Superintendent to take control of the modeling, planning, management and operation of ROM stockpiles, within the open pit, to ensure effective and efficient ore quality and quantity delivery to the processing facility.
The Ore Quality Superintendent will be responsible for:
• Control of ore inventory and stockpiles to ensure suitable daily plant feed
• Supervising and seamlessly improving the blend plan to reduce the number of stockpiles
• Effective communications with Mine Quality and Mining Supt to minimize rehandle
• Close liaison with the process plant to maximize production within specification requirements
• Improving the ROM stockpile strategy for steady and efficient operation
• Day to day supervision of grade controllers to ensure OPF requirements are met
The Person Criteria
• Suitable Mine Science qualification with a preference for Geological qualifications
• 5-10 years suitable experience with ability to work in a leadership capacity
• Strong mathematical/ modeling/computing capability
• Mine Planning and Mine Grade Control capability
• Sound influencing skills
• Experience in iron ore geology will be highly regarded
