Position Synopsis
Reporting to the Vice President Expansion Projects the primary focus of the role is to drive the overall mine and rail program and its resources to deliver the growth plan safely, on budget and within schedule.
With an approved execution program of AU$12B and a well stocked pipeline of studies in progress, this represents a long term opportunity and a role unique in scale and complexity.
The incumbent is expected to add strategic value to the Asset Development group; the Project Director will be involved in the master planning for the program of works by firstly determining, through Feasibility Studies, the optimal expansion path, and then determining the appropriate execution strategy to ensure realistic and achievable delivery. The Project Director will ensure that all Projects are delivered safely, engineering and construction standards are to design, within approved cost estimates and schedules.
The Project Director will work with consulting engineering partners to establish and ensure compliance of engineering standards throughout the program, to manage the activities of the engineer to cost, schedule and budget, to coordinate commissioning with operations to ensure delivery of planned capacity and ensure compliance with all internal and external regulatory requirements including health, safety, environment, risk and community.
Skills and Experience
To be considered for this vital role you will have at least 15 years experience in the management of major multiple engineering projects in the mining sector, preferably in the Pilbara region or other remote Australian location. It is also preferable that some of your experience has been gained in a client organisation with demonstrated experience in the management of multiple EPCM partners. You will require strong contracting and commercial skills, demonstrated experience in risk and cost management, be highly skilled in making complex decisions and problem anticipation and solving.
Leadership is integral to the success of this role, you will demonstrate a contemporary and persuasive leadership style, with the capacity to influence people at all levels of the Company. Your capacity to build and maintain positive working relationships with teams and engineering partners, and the ability to optimise the contributions of people in the achievement of corporate goals and objectives is critical.
A hands-on style, ensuring the business is provided confident and effective leadership and direction will be key; as will your personal integrity, energy and willingness to make a difference. This is a long term commitment so you will require dedication and drive to deliver the program over the next 3-5 years.
This position is integral to the continued success of ADP and as such a highly attractive executive level salary package will be negotiated with the successful applicant.
