The Resource Development Group (RDG) is committed to adding value to BMA’s operations by providing expertise in Exploration and Geological Services, Strategic Mine Planning, Underground Strategy, and Development and Research. The Geological Services Team operates within the Resource Development Group and is currently seeking an experienced Team Leader.
The Team Leader - Geology will be responsible for ensuring validated borehole geological data is obtained safely, and in a timely and cost effective manor for BMA’s exploration drilling operations. Based in our Central Queensland office in Moranbah and managing a team of 10-15 Rig and Data Validation geologists, specific responsibilities will include:
* Liaison with customers at BMA mine sites and exploration projects, exploration contractors and stakeholders, ensuring business objectives and drilling programs are achieved
* Development and maintenance of technical procedures
* Continuous improvement of HSE exploration processes and procedures
* Lead, supervise, coordinate and mentor the rig geology and data validation team
Tertiary qualified in Geosciences, the successful applicant will have extensive experience in coal exploration, open cut and underground mine geology and resource modelling. A team player with effective leadership and communication skills, you will demonstrate proven experience developing successful relationships with various stakeholders including exploration contractors and mine site personnel. Additionally, you will have strong skills in project management, contract management, and budgeting. A high level of computer literacy in Microsoft software and geological databases is required, with proven experience at a supervisory level.
