Specialist Strategic Commodity Procurement

Our client is a world leader of copper concentrate and is a significant contributor to the Papua New Guinea economy. This is a newly created position to engage the services of a motivated and experienced procurement professional to apply strategic commercial direction to all forward purchasing agreements consistent with the company’s operational and business plans. It will be a challenging role requiring enthusiasm, commitment to a zero harm safety culture and a proactive approach to addressing complex organisational challenges.

The ideal candidate will possess:

* Bachelors Degree or higher in a Commerce or Business related discipline
* 5-10 years operational experience in a Supply and Logistics environment for a major mining or commercial organisation
* Experience with ERP supply systems (Ellipse preferred)
* Advanced contract analysis and negotiation skills for commodity based contracts
* Business improvement and reporting experience (Lean and/or Six sigma)
