BHP Billiton Iron Ore is an industry leader in the supply of iron ore to the global steel industry. We are expanding our operations through a series of Rapid Growth Projects to help us meet demand. We are increasing our mine, rail and port capacity and developing new, high value-in-use products to provide steel makers with competitive advantages. Our newest growth project, Rapid Growth Project 5, will take installed capacity at our Iron Ore operations to 205mpta by the second half of calendar year 2011. This diverse team role will report to the Health, Safety, Environment & Risk Manager and will provide an exceptionally high level of data retrieval and reporting functions across the business. It is essential that all information is captured and reported in a manner that supports our management personnel and reflects our standards as an industry leader.

The varied tasks within this position will include information logging into our specific database for the purpose of accurate reporting and compliance within the HSE team. You will be required to assist in system training and provide relative and regular support to many other users in a variety of locations. In this analytical role you will participate in the continuous improvement of the HSE systems, providing feedback through your observations at an administrator’s level ensuring accurate and specific reporting standards continue to be delivered along with the documentation of any changes to the process and system.

Your proven experience within an HSE environment, capable of responding to shifting priorities along with solid analytical database management is a fundamental skill requirement for this role as is a demonstrated practical and methodical work ethic. You will possess a background in which you have developed and implemented consistent safety reporting methods along with a high level of interface with a variety of stakeholders. In order to be successful in the role it is essential that you have a high level of computer literacy in a similar HSE reporting system along with all Microsoft software. To ensure a smooth transition in to this busy team, full training and support will be provided to the successful applicant.
