Situated near Muswellbrook in the picturesque Upper Hunter Valley, the Mt Arthur Coal operation is currently expanding its thermal coal operation. This growth offers opportunities for team-spirited and motivated people to join a world-class operation.

Mt Arthur Coal is seeking a highly driven Community Relations Coordinator to enhance the planning of Mt Arthur Coal’s community relations strategies, and develop and manage our community investment activities effectively and professionally. Deadline and detail oriented, you are able to handle multiple tasks and develop clear and creative messages. You use sound judgement and discretion, and demonstrate highly developed presentation and interpersonal skills. Committed to developing a culture driven by safety, quality and continuous improvement, we are looking for a results driven individual who will take pride in making a difference.

Position Synopsis

Reporting to the Environment and External Affairs Manager your principal responsibilities will include:

* Managing Mt Arthur Coal’s community engagement program to ensure effective engagement with community stakeholders;
* Building sustainable and mutually beneficial relationships within the local community;
* Identifying community risks and opportunities;
* Developing strategies to address community issues and needs;
* Developing community-based initiatives;
* Enhancing stakeholder perceptions of Mt Arthur Coal;
* Increasing the awareness of the Company’s existing community investment programs;
* Measuring the success and effectiveness of Mt Arthur Coal’s community engagement and investment programs;
* Managing and responding to media enquiries.

Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role, ideally you will:

* Be degree qualified in an appropriate discipline and/or have relevant experience in community relations;
* Be comfortable interacting with a diversity of stakeholders;
* Have experience preparing media releases;
* Possess a strong customer focus;
* Demonstrate a high level of proficiency in the full suite of Microsoft applications;
* Hold a current driver’s licence.
