TEMCO is Australia's only ferro-alloy producer, producing manganese alloys for steelmakers around the world. We are located in the picturesque Tamar Valley, 50 km north of Launceston, Tasmania’s 2nd largest city and 4 km south of George Town - one of Australia’s oldest towns.

We are seeking an experienced person to undertake the role of Purchasing Officer within our Purchasing section of the Commercial Department.

You will be responsible for procurement of all non contract goods liaising between internal customers to ensure the timely procurement of consumables and services, ensuring procured goods are cost effective and meet all quality requirements whilst adhering to established policies and procedures.

Your role will also include liaison with suppliers on non-conformance issues and expediting of outstanding orders.

As the successful applicant you will require skills in the following areas:

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Demonstrated experience working with integrated ERP systems including but not limited to SAP MM & PM modules, and must have competent PC skills in Word and Excel

• Proven ability to be a self-starter, pro-active and a team player

• Excellent organizational and problem solving ability

• A commitment to Occupational Health Safety & Community

While it would be desirable for the applicant to be tertiary qualified with a minimum of 5 years experience in Supply related functions, applicants experienced in supply, procurement and/or inventory management roles will be considered favourably.
