A member of the BHP Billiton Group, Nickel West is a fully integrated nickel business comprising mines, concentrators, a smelter and refinery, all located in Western Australia.

Nickel West is the world’s third largest producer of nickel-in-concentrate.

Mt Keith Operation is located 460 kilometres north of Kalgoorlie in the Northern Goldfields. Mt Keith Operation is a surface mining operation with an open pit and concentrator plant. The operation is surrounded by pastoral stations, with the nearest townships being Leinster and Wiluna.

There’s plenty to keep you entertained in the Mt Keith Village. Take the heat off the day and head to the pool - or join in a game of footy. BBQ dinners are regularly held and other social activities include live bands and movie nights. Employees commute to and from Perth on a fly in / fly out roster or form regional areas on a drive in / drive out roster.

Think Purpose

Reporting to the Asset Integrity Superintendent, the Mechanical Supervisor - Asset Integrity leads the mechanical maintenance team in the delivery of the asset integrity maintenance program to the operating asset and provides support service to the fixed plant maintenance team in order to achieve safe and reliable operations whilst striving for our target of Zero Harm.

Think Requirements

You will be a suitably experienced and qualified individual in the field of fixed plant Mechanical Maintenance and have had relevant experience in a project or fixed plant maintenance leadership / supervisory role.

You must be familiar with computer based maintenance systems, budgeting and cost management systems.

Advanced communication skills are a must as you will be required to liaise with personnel at all levels of the business on regular occasions. Coaching and facilitating skills are essential as will be the ability to utilise influencing skills to influence key personnel across different work functions.

You will also be involved in resource development and manpower allocation of tasks and setting up processes and systems This will include:

* work pack and job method development;
* refinement and development of standards, work methods and procedures;
* development of schedules and manning requirements;
* procurement of materials and services;
* scoping and planning of tasks including problem solving and design input;
* leading and developing multidiscipline mechanical team.

A current WA Drivers Licence and Mechanical Trade Certificate are essential.
