Maintenance Mechanical Trainer - UG & Plant

Barrick Africa, Tulawaka mine site is currently searching for a Maintenance Mechanical Trainer - UG & Infrastructure.

DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE FOR:

* Training and developing of Tanzanian workshop Maintenance mechanical Fitters, Boilermakers, Motor Mechanics, Plumbers, Masons, Carpenters and other trades or semi-skilled personnel as required from time to time.
* Identify, train, develop and mentor Tanzanians in the maintenance workforces who have the ability and attitude to be developed to ensure minimal downtime to the mechanised fleet of equipment.
* Assist in ensuring the mechanical and service maintenance of Tulawaka’s infrastructure, including U/G mine equipment and Plant, light & medium vehicles and mobile and stationary equipment, airstrip, security infrastructure and remote bore fields and approved community relations projects are carried out such that all performance targets and cost budgets are met.
* Ensure maintenance personnel (including contractors) operate safely and comply with the Tanzanian The Factories (Building Operation and Works of Engineering Construction Rules 1985) and The Mining (Safe Working and Occupational Health) Regulations, 1999 and any other applicable Tanzanian statutes.
* Ensure maintenance personnel (including contractors) adhere to environmentally responsible work practices, particularly with regard to waste disposal.
* Cover the Maintenance and Reliability Planner’s position while he is on leave ensuring that all schedules continue to be run within the CMMS and that all equipment production & downtime data entry requirements are maintained.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Trade qualified – Mechanical Fitter or other Engineering Trade
• Front Line Management training
• Post trade studies – engineering/maintenance/trade
• Proven diagnostic skills with mineral processing & mining equipment
• Train the Trainer or similar

WORK KNOWLEDGE:

• Microsoft Word Suite of Products – Word, Project & Excel
• Computerised Maintenance management Systems – Ellipse, Pronto MIMS
• Training Needs Analysis, Train the Trainer and Trades Competences
• Preferably experience with Atlas fleet of UG mobile equipment
