Barrick is headquartered in Toronto, Canada and has 27 mining operations with many advanced exploration projects located across 5 continents and a large number of tenements located on some of the most prolific and prospective mineral trends. 9 of Barrick’s mining operations are found within the Australia Pacific region, with its regional head office located in Perth, Western Australia.

Position Overview:

The newly created position of Regional Health and Hygiene Advisor reports to the Health & Safety Manager and is responsible for providing expertise and leadership for the Barrick Health System to the Region, as well as integrating corporate health programs, policies and standards.

Duties & Responsibilities include:

• Integrate the Barrick Health system and all of its aspects into the individual mine sites within the region
• Act as a mentor and advisor in issues related to industrial hygiene
• Liaise with corporate health managers to ensure that the region is aligned with global Barrick health practices and systems
• Liaise with industry and government bodies to ensure Barrick maintains best practice policies and programs
• Co-ordinate and assist with the development of regional health and hygiene improvement programs and associated KPIs
• Advise regional leadership teams on matters of health impacting the region

Experience & Requirements:

• Degree level qualification in Industrial Hygiene or a related discipline
• Prior work experience gained in the Mining industry
• At least 5 years experience in an industrial hygiene role
• Demonstrated technical knowledge of industrial hygiene concepts and techniques
• Experience in developing technical documents, such as EHS policies and training materials
• CIH and/or CSP or equivalent preferred
