Barrick is headquartered in Toronto, Canada and has 27 mining operations with many advanced exploration projects located across 5 continents and a large number of tenements located on some of the most prolific and prospective mineral trends. 11 of Barrick’s mining operations are found within the Australia Pacific region, with its regional head office located in Perth, Western Australia.

Barrick Kanowna has a strong presence in the Eastern-Goldfields of Western Australia centred around the city of Kalgoorlie-Boulder. The Kanowna operation processes 2 million tonnes of refractory and free milling ore per annum from three underground mines in the region. It has significant exploration lease holdings and is one of the largest employers in the area.

Position Overview:

Reporting to the Regional Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Training Coordinator will, manage all development, training and assessment activities for maintenance department employees and contractors. With a strong emphasis on the improvement of department systems, contractor management and planned training activities at both department and individual levels, the position with have a significant focus on implementing and driving business improvement initiatives for the department.

* Apprentice program redesign & management
* Safety initiatives
* BI Initiatives
* InTuition overhaul & document control

* Contractor Management
* Site inductions

Requirements:

* Committed to workplace safety
* Experienced in the development and implementation of systems
* Highly developed organisation and communication skills
* Training coordination and facilitation experience
* Previous business improvement and change management experience
* Previous exposure to maintenance environment & understanding of site operations
* Ability to foster engagement and drive operational outcomes
* Minimum 5 years mine site experience
* Certificate IV Training & Assessment
* OHS Certification
* Advanced computer skills

This is a residential position based in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia.
