GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsibilities include: The successful candidate will oversee the effective extraction of ore including grade control. Other responsibilities include; directing and managing all mine production activities including planning, budgeting, staffing, cost containment, and profitability. Analyze geological and engineering information and provide direction in the development of mine plans. Manage, coach and lead teams engaged in mining to ensure that production, development targets, and schedules are met. Support operational objectives by minimizing risk and maximizing value through contract administration of contractors with focus on value, cost reduction, and risk management. Other duties as assigned.

SELECTION CRITERIA

BASIC REQUIREMENTS: To be considered for this job, applicants must meet these basic requirements:

• Minimum of six (6) years of mine related experience required
• Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or related degree preferred
• Five (5) years experience at a supervisory level preferred
• Ability to use Microsoft Office software systems required
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written required
• Excellent people skills with ability to show empathy and build rapport required
• Ability to lead by example required
• Safe work history required
