Job description:

Position and Responsibilities Reporting to the general manager, you will provide leadership and oversight to the project’s safety, health, environment, quality (SHEQ) programs and personnel. You will build, sustain and develop functional teams that incorporate cross project collaboration and linkages that contribute to overall project results as the project moves into operations mode. You will assess, adapt and implement new technologies and industry best practices to the project's SHEQ programs, while ensuring efficiency and sustainability. Your role will include strategic planning and the development, maintenance and achievement of departmental targets with a focus on continual improvement. 

You will be responsible for regulatory compliance, while maintaining open lines of communication with all regulators and stakeholders. You will also build accountability into all processes through the integration of management systems verified by assessment and audit.
Education and Qualifications Requirements of the position:
· Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering or science
· 15 or more years relevant work experience 
· Equivalent combination of education and work experience considered 
· Extensive knowledge of safety, health and environment legislation and their application in the context or uranium mining and milling 
· Extensive knowledge of the nuclear industry and regulatory environment, specifically relating to compliance and licensing activities 
· Proven track record of being able to deliver results, meet targets and achieve objectives
· Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
· Work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft 
Assets:
· Eligibility for registration with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS)
· CRSP or CSP designation
Location The Cigar Lake project, which is located in northern Saskatchewan, operates on a rotational schedule. Employees commute to the operation by aircraft.
